Strongholds
When Strongholds Keep Us from Transformation
I’ve spent the past year diving deep into Strongholds and Spiritual Gifts, and I’ve noticed a major shift in the way I think.
For years, I’ve quoted Romans 12:2 and said, “Believers need to be transformed by the renewing of their minds.” And that’s true. But lately, I’ve realized something: many people aren’t renewing their minds—not because they don’t want to—but because strongholds are blocking them.
Strongholds are like lies that set up camp in our minds. They twist the truth, keep us stuck in wrong thinking, and hold us captive. That’s why Paul called them “strongholds”—because they really do have a strong hold.
But here’s the hope: God’s Word is stronger. His Word is an incorruptible seed that never dies. It’s like a blade of grass pushing through concrete. By all logic, there’s no way something so fragile should break through something so hard. And yet, it does.
That’s what God’s Word can do in our lives. Even if strongholds seem like unbreakable concrete, God’s truth can crack it wide open. It may take time. It may take consistency. But the Word will win.
What strongholds are you asking God to break in your life right now?
